A brief description of the services we offer
Services for seniors 
  • Biblio-route:  For readers with limited mobility, a volunteer goes to the library for you to borrow and return books.
  • Friendly visits: Pairing of a volunteer with a senior who feels isolated.
  • Les Aînés Branchés: To help seniors increase their autonomy for everyday tasks and online leisure activities (ex: using Facebook, surfing the Web, emails, text messages).
  • Meals on wheels ($): Hot meals delivered at home up to three times a week for people with loss of autonomy.
  • SécuriCAB Program: Daily automated prevention calls with an alert in case of non-confirmation
  • Volunteer Transportation: Provided by volunteers offering to drive seniors with reduced mobility
    • Assistance with errands
    • Medical appointments

Social activities (offered in French only)
  • Café-causerie conferences: On the last Friday of the month. Coffee & cookies are served.
  • Community luncheons ($): Every second Tuesday a complete meal is served. Allows seniors to meet and share with others.

Food solidarity services
  • Collective kitchen ($): Small group of people who share their time and skills to prepare economic and healthy meals.
  • Community gardens: Three lots dedicated to the CAB in the city’s community gardens. The crops contribute to our food bank.
  • Food bank: Distribution of food for the families and individuals who are in a difficult situation. To confirm admissibility, an appointment must be taken.
  • Vegetables to share: During the summer period, citizens are invited to share vegetables at a kiosk in front of the CAB.
  • Ventre plein, j’apprends bien: Allows less fortunate school children to learn without being hungry.

Other services  
  • Conversation workshops in English - Second language:  Conversation in small groups.
  • Entraide: Focuses on listening and promotes autonomy and accountability to help people regain control on their situation. By appointment only.
  • Income Tax Assistance Service: Trained volunteers prepare income tax returns for eligible residents. By appointment only.
  • Thrift shop: Clothes for the whole family, as well as crockery, games and several good quality items at low prices.
  • Orthopedics appliances loan: Crutches, canes, walkers (deposit), wheelchairs ($).
